A Level Playing Field
American businesses deserve to compete globally on a level playing field. Foreign governments should seek to hold their companies to the same high standards to which U.S. companies are subject on issues like bribery and corruption. At the same time, the United States must set a gold standard by abiding by its international treaty obligations, so that other countries do not have any excuse to shirk their responsibilities when it comes to issues like protecting trademarks and copyrights or operating in a transparent manner. USA*Engage supports measures aimed at improving transparency, reducing corruption and setting high global standards worldwide, and ensuring that the United States abides by those standards and obligations.
